About me

Hey there! My name is Katie (or KT) and I’ve been mixing vocals for songs for around 10 years.I specialize in editing vocals, but I have experience editing and mixing a variety of instruments as well.I'm open to mixing songs of any genre and any language! As long as you provide the audio files, I am happy to help.As I primarily mix and master for music, the details here only apply to commissions for music. However, I have experience in doing sound design and post-production audio for other purposes as well. Reach out to me through private message via e-mail, Twitter, or Discord, and let me know what you’d like to commission from me! (I’m pretty casual about this stuff-- as long as we can schedule a time to figure out all the details, there shouldn’t be a problem!)- Discussion
If you are unsure of the audio quality of your vocal tracks or the instrumental, you may send me samples in advance for me to listen to. I’ll let you know if there could be any issues in terms of quality.- Confirmation
I’ll confirm your order and start mixing upon receiving all the raw audio files and 50% down payment.- First mix
I’ll send you a demo mix within 2 weeks and you may request changes. For no additional charge, you may also send some revised recordings, but within reason. (A few resung vocal lines is within reason. 5 fully tracks of re-recorded audio will probably warrant an extra cost.)- Revised mix
I will send you a revised mix within a week and you may request changes again.- Final mix
When you are satisfied with the final mix, confirm with me and send me the rest of the payment. After I receive the payment, I will send you the uncompressed file (.wav) and any other requested files.

Sending Files

1. Create a zipped folder with ALL AUDIO FILES: including raw recorded audio, pre-mixed instrumentals, demos/guides if any. Please make sure none of the audio in any files overlap! (Ex: two vocals singing over each other in the same file)(Note about formatting: I would prefer it if the audio files were in an uncompressed format (ex: .wav, 320K) but .mp3 is fine too (just note that providing me with only .mp3 files may result in a lower audio quality final mix!)2. Upload to a file hosting site (examples: Box, Dropbox, Mediafire, 4shared, etc.) and send me the link

Pricing

STANDARD MIX & MASTER
$50.00 per minute of total song length + $50.00 per raw audio track Sample price calculation:
3-minute song ($150) +
2 main vocal tracks ($100) and 1 pre-mixed instrumental track

General clean-up of recordings
Tracking (timing)
Pitch correction
Artificial harmonies
Effects (I'll include what I think suits the song, if not given any specific requests)
Mastering
Unlimited revisions
MP3 & Uncompressed WAV files
Additional files upon request (acapella, pre-mastered audio, other file formats, etc.)PRICING NEGOTIATIONS:
I will not charge for any pre-mixed tracks (ex: pre-mixed backing track).If there are any audio tracks with almost no content (ex: 5 seconds of a vocal harmony) I'd also be open to accommodating an extra track for a fraction of the usual cost.All mixes include the above services. If for some reason you do not want a mastered version (or any other services), please let me know and we can negotiate a discounted price. I do not provide any stand-alone editing services (ex: only timing/pitch correction, noise removal, etc.)PAYMENT METHODS:
Prices are in USD. I accept payment through PayPal or Venmo. If those aren't available to you, I'm open to discussing other payment options!

RUSH ORDER PRICING
+ 20% - 50%, depending on request
If you want a mix within a shorter time frame (ex: first draft within 1 week instead of 2), there may be an additional charge depending on how fast you want it done. I generally refuse to take on a mix with less than a 48-hour notice. (However, if you really want it done within an extremely short time frame, I may accept it if you negotiate a fairly decent price and I find that I am capable of giving you a quality mix within that time frame.)OTHER QUESTIONS?

FAQ

How does pricing work?
The prices are calculated based on number of raw audio tracks and total length of the song.LENGTH OF SONG
Total length of song will be rounded up to the nearest 0.1 of a minute of the entire song.
(Ex: 1 min 35 sec = 1.58 min --> 1.6 min)NUMBER OF TRACKS
I will count the number of recorded/raw files (excluding pre-mixed instrumental, guide track, etc.) as the number of tracks. If you have any special recording notes (ex: you recorded a few takes and want me to choose the better one), please let me know, so that I don't count them as additional tracks.If you are unsure of anything, please feel free to send over any files you would like me to look over beforehand. I can definitely give you a price estimate before you decide to commission me.
